Cummings Park

Cummings Park in leafy Ngaio is a real hidden gem for nature play. With a large lawn, a track for exploring, access to the stream for splashing and making mud pies, and an area among the trees which is perfect for setting up a secret base or collecting treasures, this park is seriously fun! There is also a great, newly redeveloped playground which is perfect for under 5s.

At the Southern end of the main grassy area there is a track that runs along the stream (you'll sometimes spot the resident eels if you're lucky!) which you can follow along to get to a gorgeous, sheltered spot among the trees with flat access to the water.

How to find us

We set up on the main field (across the bridge from the dog park). The closest car parking is accessed from Ottawa Rd, down the ramp next to the cafe - from there the quickest way to us will be straight across the dog park. There is also access via a track from Awarua Street where there is sometimes on street parking, or the main park entrance next to the library on Ottawa Rd.
