Matairangi Nature Trail, Mt. Victoria
The Matairangi Nature Trail at the top of Mount Victoria is an epic place for a true Welly adventure - go for the jaw-dropping views of the city, then entertain the kids by following the trail of activity stations based on the habitat of the matuku hūrepo, kapokapowai, tuna, moko pirirākau, wētā
pekapeka, titiwai, tītipounamu and kōura.
Slide, balance, jump and climb as you follow the friendly fantail who shows you the path to follow, but don't be afraid to venture off track to explore and play - there is space to run, hills to roll down and plenty of nature's treasures to discover if you take the time to look!

How to find us
Park at the main Lookout car park and follow the nature trail, or head further down Alexandra Rd where it intersects with the Southern Walkway. Our spot is just past the wētā station on the trail - the yellow arrow on the map photograph shows the best parking spot but this may be limited.
