Willowbank Reserve

Willowbank Reserve is a Tawa classic, this is a spot for some serious fun!

The new playground offers challenge for all ages as well as some cool natural elements. Best of all, it is surrounded by luscious greenery - a huge lawn, with heritage fruit trees, flowering bushes (plenty of fallen petals to use for potions during spring/summer!) and a river running through offering opportunities for water play - close supervision is recommended here for younger children as the water is deep in places, and is fast flowing after rain.

Never fear - there are some safe shallow spots too, and the sandy riverbank offers opportunities for digging and mixing. The river is also teeming with eels - unfortunately feeding them here is no longer permitted.

This location is also always a big hit with any vehicle fans as its location alongside Takapu Road station means that there are plenty of trains to spot!
