Willowbank Reserve
Willowbank Reserve is a Tawa classic, this is a spot for some serious fun!

The playground (currently due for an upgrade, although we love it as it is!) offers challenge for all ages and is surrounded by luscious greenery - a huge lawn, with heritage fruit trees, flowering bushes (plenty of fallen petals to use for potions during spring/summer!) and a river running through offering opportunities for water play - close supervision is recommended here for younger children as the water is deep in places, and is fast flowing after rain.

Never fear - there are some safe shallow spots too, and the sandy riverbank offers opportunities for digging and mixing. The river is also teeming with eels - unfortunately feeding them here is no longer permitted.

This location is also always a big hit with any vehicle fans as its location alongside Takapu Road station means that there are plenty of trains to spot!
How to find us
We always set up near one of the covered picnic tables, just across from the playground and near the hidden entrances to the riverbank.
